Coronavirus outbreak: Quebec government provides daily update on COVID-19 response | LIVE

Quebec’s Premier François Legault, along with Dr. Horacio Arruda, Quebec director of National Public Health and Danielle McCann, Quebec’s health and social services minister hold the province’s daily coronavirus update.

On Monday, Premier Legault announced three new deaths due to COVID-19 in Quebec, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 25.

He also announced 590 new cases of COVID-19, with a total of 3,430 province-wide.

Premier Legault also stressed to Quebecers to reach out and seek mental health assistance if they feel they need it during these times of self-isolation and social distancing.

He announced that Quebec businesses — including grocery stores — are prohibited from operating on Sundays throughout the month of April in a new move to slow the spread of the virus throughout the province.

However, other essential services such as pharmacies, gas stations and restaurant takeouts will remain open.
