Coronavirus outbreak: N.B. confirms 11 new COVID-19 cases, extends state of emergency | LIVE

New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health Dr. Jennifer Russell and Premier Blaine Higgs provided an update on the province’s COVID-19 fight on Wednesday.

Russell confirmed 11 new cases of the novel coronavirus during the briefing, bringing the total number of cases to 81. Russell said the new cases are in the age range of 20’s to 60’s.

Of the 81 cases, 43 are travel-related, 22 are close contacts of confirmed cases, three cases are from community transmission, and 13 cases remain under investigation.

Fourteen people have since recovered from the virus and four people are in hospital, including two of the latest confirmed cases.

New Brunswick’s state of emergency has also been extended another 14 days.
